Environmental Law Center

For years Prof. Dr. Kirk W. Junker has been engaged in the field of environmental law. During the last semesters, the increasing number of interested students in his lectures of International, Comparative and German Environmental Law made him happily recognize that this field of law has gained popularity. The previous commitment in environmental law is from now on pooled in the Environmental Law Center.

Its purpose is to honor the growing consciousness about environmental law among the students at the University of Cologne and to give them the opportunity of further training. At many universities in Germany environmental law institutes already exist, as now as well in Cologne. Environmental law is not only increasingly important at an international level. Also German Environmental Law provides a lot of opportunities for young jurists and offers to explore this topic in more detail. Additionally to the already existing “Schwerpunkt- und Vorbereitungsseminararbeiten” in Comparative Environmental Law and International Environmental Law, more lectures and events are going to take place under the name of the Environmental Law Center in the future. These events aim to improve and awaken the interest of young students in environmental law.
