1. Can I take the same course for the Environmental Law Certificate and as part of another degree/certificate program?

No, double crediting is not permitted. Students can only take courses within the ELC which they have not previously taken for other degree programs such as IMES, or other Certificate programs such as CUSL.

2. Who can apply for the Environmental Law Certificate?

Only matriculated students of the University of Cologne are permitted to apply for the Certificate programme. As of this moment, external students are not permitted to enroll for the certificate.

3. Can I count ELC courses for the certificate that I took before I applied and got accepted to the program?

No. ELC courses will only be counted for the certificate after successful applicatin and acceptance to the program.

4. How many times can I take the same exam? Can I take it again for improvement?

Every ELC exam may be taken as many times as needed to pass it. After passing there is no possibilty of taking it again to improve the result.
